Dear Moviegoers,

A big week this week with 4 films entering our program.
Action packed, and starring Angelina Jolie and Morgan Freeman, WANTED [MA] is a great choice for those of you looking for action and adventure.

THE BANK JOB (M) will also tick that box, inspired by a real-life 1971 London bank robbery that was never solved. A band of thieves tunneled their way into a safe deposit vault, taking millions of dollars in cash and jewelry. The robbery made headlines for several days, but then all reporting stopped as a result of a government gag order.

For those who prefer a little less action, and a touch more heart, comedy and romance, then we offer you AND WHEN DID YOU LAST SEE YOUR FATHER (M), starring Colin Firth and Jim Broadbent, and HOW ABOUT YOU? (M), with Vanessa Redgrave, Imelda Staunton and Brenda Fricker.

For straight out laughs, BABY MAMA [PG] , now showing, will deliver the goods. Starring Amy Poehler, Tina Fey, Greg Kinnear, Sigourney Weaver, Steve Martin, and Maura Tierney, this hilarious film will leave you smiling!

Just a note, for those moviegoers who enjoy our selection of art/foreign/subtitled films, please be sure to catch the film in the first week or two, as most titles are unlikely to sustain longer seasons.


MAMMA MIA is still showing and if you haven't already experienced this colourful, hilarious and most importantly fun film, well, you are in the minority!!
We have had some record attendances for this film and we do ask you book well ahead to ensure good seats as many sessions are heavily booked.

"How About You" wonderfully paints the hilarious antics of these uncivilised seniors and the gradual solidarity between them and Ellie as they finally recognise kindred spirits in each other. Ellie succeeds in beating them at their own game and manages to show them the error of their ways. As well as changing them, she also realises that "the hardcore" have changed her too in quite an unexpected way.

NIGHTS IN RODANTHE

In the romantic drama 'Nights in Rodanthe,' based on the Nicholas Sparks best-selling novel, Diane Lane stars as Adrienne Willis, a woman with her life in chaos, who retreats to the tiny coastal town of Rodanthe, in the Outer Banks of North Carolina, to tend to a friend?s inn for the weekend. Here she hopes to find the tranquility she so desperately needs to rethink the conflicts surrounding her -- a wayward husband who has asked to come home, and a teenaged daughter who resents her every decision. Almost as soon as Adrienne gets to Rodanthe, a major storm is forecast and Dr. Paul Flanner (Richard Gere) arrives. The only guest at the inn, Flanner is not on a weekend escape but rather is there to face his own crisis of conscience. Now, with the storm closing in, the two turn to each other for comfort and, in one magical weekend, set in motion a life-changing romance that will resonate throughout the rest of their lives. -

WHEN DID YOU LAST SEE YOUR FATHER

And When Did You Last See Your Father? is from Blake Morrison's moving and candid memoir of his father in the weeks leading up to his death. When Arthur Morrison was diagnosed with terminal cancer he had only a few weeks left to live. Morrison travelled to Yorkshire to stay with his mother in the village where he grew up. He visited his father at the hospital where he had spent so much time with his own patients as a GP. As his father's condition worsened Morrison contemplated their shared experiences, the intimacies and the irritations of their relationship. After his father's death Morrison questions the nature of the bond between them, articulately expressing the contradictions, frustrations, love and loss bound into the complicated relationships which most of us have with our parents as we grow up.

BRIDESHEAD REVISITED

Brideshead Revisited, the epic novel of life, death and spiritual renewal among the English Catholic gentry is widely described as Evelyn Waugh's greatest work. Whilst at Oxford University a chance encounter with the charming and decadent Sebastian Flyte, son of Lord Marchmain, draws Charles Ryder into the exclusive world of British high society.

THE WOMEN

"The Women" is about friends and mothers and daughters. It's about breaking up and finding your way back. It's about reinventing yourself. It's about walking through fire for what you believe in. It's about Women. Diane English, the creator of "Murphy Brown", has gathered an exceptional cast for the remake of George Cukor's 1939 classic. Her script maintains the arch spirit of the original, and the all-female cast, but the women aren't as relentlessly catty this time around. The story follows a group of female friends when the one they envied most discovers her husband is cheating on her. Starring Meg Ryan, Annette Bening, Eva Mendes, Jada Pinkett Smith, Debra Messing, Candice Bergen, Bette Midler, Cloris Leachman, Carrie Fisher.
